 THE CHANNEL:

Stories From L.A.

Susan Alcott Jardine

Daily we are confronted with myriad losses...

tiny little deaths.  The loss of a loved one, a job,

a friend, a divorce, one's life, a home, a romantic love.

Are we so different from our ancestors?

Global corporations have replaced principalities.

Technology gives us a world view in seconds.

Are we in control of our lives, or merely at the mercy of

Destiny or Fate?

These are some of the dilemmas that catch the protagonists

of these 10 collected stories off balance.

All are unprepared for their reversals.  How well they do

or do not cope is for you to determine.

Los Angeles becomes the background where the 10

stories  unravel.  They take place from the early

1950's to the not too distant future.

Bo Richman, "THE CHANNEL," in the title story,

creates the metaphor for the collection.

Several  stories have garnered "fiction writing awards."  Two

stories from the collection have been published individually in

"Ellery Queen Magazine" and "Wellspring Magazine," a literary journal.

Look for a November 2008 Release on

Outskirts Press.

Publication updates will be posted during the publishing process.
